WD introduced 5TB (WD50EFRX) and 6TB (WD60EFRX) variant into its existing Red Series HDD lineups. What’s more is that WD also introduced a new series called WD Red Pro with 2TB (WD2001FFSX), 3TB (3001FFSX) and 4TB (4001FFSX) variants.
WD Red are made specifically for NAS purposes, mainly for SOHO purposes. In the end WD was able to cough up a solution for an affordable NAS-centric hard drives. As one would assume with the prefix, the WD Red ‘Pro’ is made for medium to large business environments that uses anywhere between eight to sixteen NAS bay Network systems.

The specification of the WD and WD Pro lineups can be accessed from here.
